The XL-PD15-21B-TR is a surface-mount infrared photodiode (PD) with a 3215 package (3.2×1.5×1.0mm). It uses black epoxy (effectively filtering out visible light interference), has a peak sensitivity wavelength of 940nm, and a sensitivity range of 700~1100nm. This device is a photosensitive diode (not a photosensitive transistor), and its output photocurrent changes linearly with the intensity of received infrared radiation. It's suitable for SMT reflow soldering, meets ROHS environmental standards, and has a moisture sensitivity level of MSL 3. Paired with the 3215 infrared emitter of the same series (XL-IR15-21CTR), it forms a complete photoelectric through-beam/reflection detection solution, making it an ideal receiver for applications like photoelectric switches, light barriers, and smoke detection.

Optical Performance:
Peak Responsivity Wavelength (λP): 940nm
